Project Overview
Brightline Defense, an environmental justice nonprofit working throughout the Bay Area on community empowerment and creating sustainable environments, maintains its own network of Clarity air sensors. Making sure air sensors are accurate and calibrated correctly is an important part of any sensor network, and Brightline Defense was interested in collocating its sensors with high- quality instruments to calibrate their Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) sensor data.
Partnering with the Bay Air Center, Brightline Defense used the Center’s Sensor Verification System (SVS) to evaluate the sensors’ performance. The SVS is a self-contained, portable, weather-resistant, and easy-to-operate instrument system that can help quantify the performance of sensors relative to high-quality instruments.
